say what you will

This morning this is what I found at the bottom of the bed - a sock cemetery! I know most people despise socks but I love them. I like soft, warm socks that have good shape traction. I deplore shapeless, shifting socks that after two hours of wear are bagging around my feet. Please keep my feet and toes snuggly - my only request.
Maybe it is because my feet always feel cold and I want the extra layer or the fact that I hate dirt and dust particles clinging to the bottom of my feet. Either way - you can't convince me otherwise - I want to wear socks. My one caveat is if I am traveling somewhere muggy and tropical with sand. Then, and only then, my feet want to breathe and feel the gritty beach particles against them.

The problem with wearing socks to bed is this - heat, after about one hour of toasting the bed up with my heartbeat, the socks are no longer wanted. So, to the bottom they go, often tucking themselves lazily into the crack between the sheets and the bed frame, only to be found during sheet-washing day. Socks - I love you.
